Movie Review – Cellular

I had an opportunity to watch Cellular the other day and my first thought was that here we go with a different spin-off of Phone Booth, another movie with someone forced to keep on the telephone for 90 some minutes while we apologize in our seat. But, to me, this is actually a very enjoyable movie. I’m am not quite sure what genre to classify this movie because it has everything. Suspense, drama, activity, comic aid; this movie gets everything.

The movie begins with the kidnapping of Jessica Martin, performed with Kim Bassinger.
Who gets her home broken into and mysteriously taken away to an unknown location from the”bad men” and placed in an attic. They smash the telephone hanging on the wall and then move to lock Jessica in the loft. Jessica then”drains” the damaged telephone (remember – she is a science instructor ) and is able to randomly dial up a contact number.
Now enters Ryan, played by Chris Evans, he plays your average early 20’s dude who’s only mission is to win back his ex-girlfriend. Jessica finds a dwell number and lo and behold, it’s Ryan’s cell phone.
Jessica cries for somebody she doesn’t know in a desperate plea for assistance. Ryan initially gets the usual response that anyone could have when getting a call such as this, but goes beyond the call of

duty in an effort to conserve a woman that he doesn’t even know.
I am not likely to be the spoiler and that is all I am going to tell you, but that is a excellent sleeper movie. Can it be a little far fetched? Yes, but so what. Forget about your issues and sit down and observe Cellular, I promise you will never be disappointed!
